Luciferburns master tape

Running time:

*Original Notes
This was originally upped to Dime by Blacklarbot on April 17, 2009, as a contribution to the Sabbath Dimers Project (SDP) Part I. For some reason I didn't download it back then, so I recently asked Luciferburns for help with this one, and he sent it to me. I added ReplayGain tags and did some re-naming and tagging, nothing else was changed by me. It is always amazing to be able to listen to a MASTER TAPE from the 70ies - extraordinary. Many thanks to both Luciferburns and Blacklarbot for their unforgotten efforts to make low gen tape versions of every possible 1970ies Sabbath recording available to the Sabbath community.

Tracklist:
(01) N.I.B. (06:18)
(02) War Pigs (08:14)
(03) Sweet Leaf (05:50)
(04) Iron Man (08:29)
(05) Embryo & Children of the Grave (cut out) (01:39)
(06) Children Of The Grave (continued) (03:35)
(07) Wicked World (incl. Orchid & guitar solos) (23:33)
(08) Paranoid (03:42)

*Original Notes
Regarding the sound of this show, I have seen it listed as "good to very good", but also as "very good plus" - please check the samples. According to Sabbathlive.com (RIP), "Fairies Wear Boots" was played as encore, but not captured by the taper since he ran out of tape (see below for the full Sabbathlive entry). As mentioned in the tracklist above, the recording is interrupted during "Children of the Grave" (probably due to a tape flip, since it occurs after about 30 min of recording), so the beginning of the 1st verse of that song is missing. (In the other version of this show that I have - Borispider's CDR, running time: 62:18 min, apparently higher gen -, somebody edited the beginning of the 2nd verse in at this point to fill the gap, so the beginning of the 2nd verse is sung two times in Borispider's version, which sounds quite odd of course. Anyway, I prefer the un-edited, and better-sounding, version that we got here.)

The "Wicked World" version that is included in Chill782002's version of Berlin 1970 <http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-details.php?id=441956>; is actually from this show (just compare Ozzy's introduction to the song). However, on Luciferburns's master, the the song is complete (the other lacks about 10 min) and sounds quite different (much stronger in the higher frequencies, but also a bit distorted).

"SABBATHLIVE (RIP) INFO:

Good to very good quality, but incomplete. The taper only had a 60 minute tape with him, so he was unable to capture their encore of "Fairies Wear Boots". Doah! There is a little distortion around the edges of this recording, which I've slightly penalized this tape for. But during quieter sections (like Iommi's guitar solo), the sound is much better. All of the copies I've heard so far need speed correction.

This show has also been incorrectly listed as 10/10/71. [Special thanks to George Berk for his insights!]
