This SHOULD not be one of my typical long-winded concert
descriptions because there's not too much to say except for
a lot of bitching and moaning. I got this tape from a good
taping friend ~ 20 years ago and he told me it was a 3rd
gen copy from the master. Well, I don't know if he dubbed
my copy himself or got it from somebody else but it is
totally fucked up ! It is the Crown Prince of fucked-up
tapes. The setlist shown above is in the correct order; here
is the order in which the tracks exist on the 2 tapes:

As you can see, this is a recipe for insanity. Luckily,
it didn't take too long to sort this out and get it into
some semblance of order. I was NOT at this show so I'll
tell you what I know about this tape:
I broke up TAAB into 7 distinct titled tracks so it would be
easier to listen to and so that you, the Tull fanatic,
would not have to deal with one 75:17 track. The track
splits were done in what I think was a very logical
manner. TAAB, which is all of CD 1, is virtually complete.
There are a few brief missing moments but that's the way
that I got the tape. I'd say that TAAB is 98-99% complete.
As far as CD 2 is concerned, Track 9 cuts out, the beginning
of Track 10 is missing & Track 10 also cuts out. According to
the Ministry Of Information UK, Hard-Headed English General and
Wind Up (reprise) are also missing from this tape. I've got
a lot of respect for those guys ; they may be right, but
they've been wrong before...
I know that all of you are curious about sound quality. I would
rate this as a solid very good to very good plus. Any higher
rating would be, IMHO, a lie. There is a low-level more or less
constant hiss to the tape. There are volume fluctuations that
seem to be from an electrical problem within the recorder and
there are mic handling noises. On the other hand, there is NO
distortion, NO speed fluctuation problem, very little talking
around the taper and a clear to very clear sound capture.
Remember, we're dealing with 1972 technology here ; this was
probably taped on Mom's GE tape deck (dictionary-sized) with
a less-than-wonderful microphone. All in all, though, I think
it's a pretty good-sounding tape and I think that you'll enjoy
it. My tapes are ~ 20 years old so they should be pre-bootleg
generation. I WILL post at least one sound sample so you'll
know what you're getting into...
As always, if you have a complete or better-sounding copy of
this show, up it by all means. If you are a technical remastering
wizard, you have my go-ahead to remaster this as long as you
upload the results here on Dime for everybody to enjoy.
I did NO EQing, hiss reduction or anything else to this tape.
You're getting my raw tape as I have it. The only thing that I
DID do was to track it.
That's about all that I have to say, so let's wrap this up.
No buy, no sell, no mp3. Please seed this as long as you can.
I'm unsure but I don't think that this tape has been widely
circulated so JUMP ON IT !!! Well, thanks for reading

Just came back to DAD from a long summer break - good to see that there still is a lot of fantastic music around!
To all you Tull fans out there: here's a find from my shoebox, never before seeded.
I recorded this on an Uher on slow speed and the Gaumont State Theatre is a very "loud" hall -
so a WARNING: this isn't a high fidellity recording!.
But to me it sounds just like it did that night almost 35 years ago.
I'm not a Tull specialist and I haven´t heard other early Tull tapes so I will not judge the musical quality, but I really like this recording, it«s full of energy.
As for the track list perhaps someone could help me out!
This is just one track of 73 minutes so if anyone will split it in tracks feel free to do it and re-seed it!
I«m pretty sure that this must be the early performance from the 26th.
