There have been so many rebroadcast of Genesis' BBC sessions, so I thought I'll
make a new compilation, something like "The Almost Complete BBC Sessions"

Edit: I replaced all official versions with already existing ones. The quality
is a little inferior, but still very enjoyable. Please feel free to replace

Soft Machine Het Turfschip, Breda, The Netherlands; 1971

Soft Machine

Live at Het Turfschip, Breda, The Netherlands; March 15, 1971
(some list this as March 21, 1971).

Good to very good soundboard.

Here’s some cutting edge prog rock/avant jazz (?) that’s still as biting today
as it was then.

TomP notes:

I’ve retracked the post by Patabubu (to the details from urich21) and done
quite a lot of remastering.

I had thought I’d finished, but then I found an excellent noise print that not
only allowed good reduction of noise, hum and the annoying clicking on the
left channel, but also IMHO significantly improved the stereo image
(the echoplexes are now audible) and the harsh sound (mentioned in OP comments)
in high level parts is much improved.

It is a super performance and probably the best quality of the recent early
1971 posts - again making one sad that this great music was apparently hated by
3/4 of this band and the cause of their split just a few months later.

- This is not taken from the Fillmore Tree. The Fillmore Tree version is about
25 mns. This here is almost the complete show, only "Directions", the set-opener
is missing: total time is about 64 mns. This FM source sounds great.

- According to P.Losin: "The Davis Septet opened for Leon Russell and Sea
Train for four nights at the Fillmore West, October 15-18 (Thursday-Sunday).
Columbia probably recorded these shows, and the Fillmore certainly did. None
of the recordings of this show that I have heard includes "Directions," the
standard set-opener..."
