Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick Complete Performance - Live Tokyo 1972

Jethro Tull
Thick As A Brick Complete Performance
Tokyo 1972

*Original Notes
Following this series of rarities recorded on the tour Thick As A Brick,1972
here is another good boot, if somewhat irregular in some sections where the
sound seems to be lost, even has some really outstanding shots full of detail
and could hardly appreciate their studio versions. Especially noteworthy in
the culminating moment where it is interpreted  A New Day Yesterday ,
including the legendary pre-recorded section of the girls asking about the
name of the song with a British accent as an introduction, and the masterful
solo by John Evans his Hammond.

It is not difficult to understand the devotion of the staunchest fans of
Jethro Tull by this time in the band, in that passion, strength, and
expressive power never come to play so high. The versions are impeccable,
full of tasty improvisations they know perfectly retain the registration
acquis study, while providing a unique and particular. While Ian Anderson is
the main character, there is no less talent deployment John Evans on Hammond
organ, not to mention the power of guitar Martin Barre that has nothing to
envy to the expressive power of a Jimi Hendrix . What makes a perfect balance
between these poles creative, and not just the deployment of a soloist and
his companions, as we would see years later.

A perfect record establishes a bridge between the first period marked by a
sound strongly oriented Rhythm & Blues and Jazz, with its most eccentric and
experimental, not whether to call it progressive or rather parody-dev in
response to bands like Yes, Genesis or ELP.
